I originally started this blog as a way to update friends and family of my mom's illness. 2010 was the worst and best year of my life. I lost a brother to suicide and a mother to cancer, but made some major changes in myself for the better. I was forced to decide how I wanted to live my life, and I'm so thankful for that. I developed a real relationship with God.  I gained understanding of his Son's atonement. A few weeks after mom passed, I was listening to Death Cab and the song "The New Year" really inspired me to make the best of the upcoming year, 2011. It felt like I was finally able to come up for air and focus on myself.  That same year I was accepted into nursing school, landed my dream job, and met the man who would become my husband.

I now use this blog to talk of the handsome guy himself, Neal, our daughters Eleanor and Isla, and our adventures together.  Life isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn good.
